Financial Agreements

Richard BuxtonFinancial agreements during divorce

To complete your divorce and ensure you get a fair and reasonable settlement, both parties have to give full financial disclosure.

Where possible I do encourage you to communicate with your ex-partner to reach a financial settlement that you are both happy with.

If you can reach a financial agreement without dispute, then I can help to draw up a formal agreement known as a ‘consent order’ which must be approved by the Court.

What happens if a financial agreement cannot be reached?

To not be able to reach an agreement does not have to mean acrimony. When divisive issues are preventing you from reaching an amicable conclusion, mediation can be a consideration.

If mediation is not an option and you cannot reach an amicable agreement, then I can guide you through the process for financial disputes.
